The Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (S.T.A.T)
The Society is the oldest established teaching body (est. 1958) and professional association for the Alexander Technique. An elected Council acts as a managing body and oversees the running of the organisation. The Society's aims are to:
STAT has within its membership teachers who were trained personally by FM Alexander, thus giving direct access to the original tradition. There are currently seventeen STAT-approved training schools in the UK . All STAT's teaching members have completed a full-time three-year training course and are encouraged to participate in STAT's programme of post-graduated education and training.
